Why consider Biomass?
Using wood pellets, wood chips or wood logs as a fuel source is not only more cost effective than burning oil or gas, it also supports the local economy and recycles residual wood in a sustainable matter. Further advantages include that Hargassner’s wood heating boilers in Canada are exempt from the carbon tax, and buyers benefit from a 30% federal investment tax credit.
You can significantly reduce emissions, lower energy costs, and contribute to a more sustainable operation by switching to a biomass heating system.
The fund supports projects that:
- Install renewable energy systems
- Improve energy efficiency with new technology
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Who can apply?
The program is open to companies in the commercial fishing and aquaculture sectors that want to adopt innovative, sustainable and energy-efficient practices.
