From oil to pellets: Gendron Sports’ sustainable heating system upgrade
In Québec, the weather may change with the seasons, but inside Gendron Sports Spécialités – Rimouski’s largest sporting goods store – the warmth never fades. Formerly heated with oil, the shop now relies on a Hargassner Eco-PK 150 pellet boiler, combining comfort with sustainability.
The system draws pellets from a large storage tank in the basement, automatically fed by the RAS suction system. Locally sourced pellets are delivered regularly, ensuring steady, renewable heat perfectly suited to Québec’s harsh winters. The result: reliable comfort for customers and staff, lower heating costs compared to oil, and a reduced carbon footprint.
Standing proudly on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the shop now heats affordably and sustainably. For Gendron Sports, choosing Hargassner means supporting local energy, cutting fossil fuel dependence, and offering athletes and enthusiasts a warm, welcoming place for their next adventure.
