project
The task
The requirements:
- Heating system for large-scale operation
- Heat regulation through the heating system
Our solution
The Pommer poultry farm relies on the Eco-HK 150 wood chip system + CHP extension from Hargassner to heat the chicken coop.
- Particularly powerful
- Biomass gasifier
- Constant temperatures between 21 and 36 °C
- Possible conversion to combined heat power (CHP)
Heat & power with biomass heating
Poultry fattening farms pay special attention to proper heat regulation, as young chickens need a very high and, above all, constant room temperature. At the same time, however, air exchange also plays an important role. For this reason, the farm from Hochburg-Ach in Upper Austria around farm manager Markus Pommer switched to a wood chip boiler from Hargassner several years ago. This not only ensures a pleasant room temperature for the animals, but also air rich in oxygen.
Only recently, the Eco-HK 150 KW wood chip boiler from Hargassner was expanded to include combined heat and power. In this way, the plant covers the required heating demand and, on top of that, also produces its own electricity. For this purpose, wood chips are converted under high temperatures and energy into wood gas, which in turn is passed on and burned in a 4-cylinder diesel engine. This is coupled with the generator, which feeds in electrical energy for self-consumption.
