Hargassner integrates HT Heiztechnik

The product range is being expanded

The Austrian heating technology specialist Hargassner, headquartered in Weng im Innkreis, has taken over the Polish industry leader for biomass boilers and heat pumps “HT Heiztechnik” as majority owner with effect from March 2023. Following the takeover of the Polish company Rakoczy Stal two years ago, the Hargassner Group is now pushing forward with its expansion in Eastern Europe.

HT Heiztechnik was founded in 2007 by the Polish engineers Zdzisław Kulpan and Radosław Siłkowski with the aim of producing the best heating technology in Poland. They first started with the production of coal-fired boilers. Today, the company is a modern manufacturer offering biomass boilers with an output of 3.9 kW to 7 MW, heat pumps and other heating devices. The target groups are both private individuals and industrial enterprises. Production is carried out using state-of-the-art machinery consisting of laser cutting machines, automatic press brakes and robot-controlled welding stations.

The production of pellet boilers started in 2010. These have since become the main product of HT Heiztechnik. The company currently has around 6,000 square metres of production space.
The product range includes a wide selection of fireplaces, which are in demand in Poland as well as in Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Moldova and Hungary.

Award-winning Specialists

Essential on the way to becoming a specialist for biomass boilers are technical innovations such as the first compact boiler “HT-One”, which was awarded a gold medal at the trade fair in Poznań in 2018. A year later, the HT heat pump was certified and the heat pump production facility was opened on an area of 2,000 sqm. In 2020, the “Calla Verde Comfort II” heating technology pump received an MTP gold medal for outstanding operating parameters. It is one of the first air-source heat pumps in Europe to use the environmentally friendly refrigerant R 452B. Two more compact pellet boiler types were added to the product range in 2021. The most recent success was the highest award from the Polish Chamber of Ecology for two products – one from the biomass boiler range and one heat pump.

The Austrian Hargassner Ges mbH is a global player in biomass heating technology and employs around 1100 people. As a biomass pioneer from the very beginning, Hargassner produces pellet, wood chip and wood logs heating systems in a power range of 6 – 2,500 kW on a company area of 55,500 sqm. The export rate is more than 70 % to 43 countries worldwide. The Upper Austrians have been internationally active for decades and have become one of the leading suppliers of biomass boilers in Europe due to numerous innovations and great technical competence.

HT Heiztechnik will remain an independent company and continue to operate under its previous brand. The approximately 150 qualified employees, the modern production facility in Skarszewy and the healthy sales structure, combined with Hargassner’s market position and know-how, offer great economic potential for the further healthy expansion of the Hargassner Group. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The employment contracts remain in place.

The focus of the integration is on the growth of biomass in the Eastern European market. We see the topic of ‘biomass in combination with heat pumps’ as an important milestone for our company in the market for renewable energy.

HT Heiztechnik Managing Directors Zdzisław Kulpan and Radosław Siłkowski are also very satisfied. They see the synergies for their products in the powerful sales structure, the international dealer network and the potent production facilities of the new majority owner.

Hargassner’s goal is to integrate HT Heiztechnik seamlessly into the organisation of the Hargassner group of companies and to continue to fulfil the current order situation for customers without delay.
