Hargassner Group expands

Acquisition of the Rakoczy Stal company from Poland

Hargassner Ges mbH is a family-owned company based in the Innviertel region of Austria. It employs around 630 people and produces pellet-, wood chip and wood log boilers with an output range of 6 – 2,500 kW. Hargassner has been internationally active for many years and has become one of Europe’s leading suppliers of biomass heating systems thanks to its numerous innovations and extensive technical expertise.

On the 6th of August 2021, Hargassner announced the acquisition of Rakoczy Stal, a company based in Poland, by Hargassner. RakoczyStal has active in the production and supply of pellet boilers – mainly to the Eastern European region. It will be 100% integrated into the Hargassner Group, which earlier welcomed Hargassner-Industry (formerly Gilles) at the beginning of 2021.

Rakoczy Stal will remain an independent company and continue to operate under its existing brand. The approximately 75 qualified employees, the modern production facility in Stalowa Wola and the company’s good reputation and contacts in the local market, combined with Hargassner’s knowledge and experience, offer an excellent opportunity for further dynamic development of the Hargassner Group.

The two companies are taking advantage of existing synergies and see the acquisition as a significant element of the Hargassner Group’s business strategy and as part of its development plans in the Eastern European markets.

“We are very pleased with the synergy effects created by the acquisition and look forward to working together in the future.”

Markus & Anton Hargassner | managing directors of the Hargassner Group
