Award for equal opportunities goes to Weng

The name “Hargassner” stands for outstanding heating technology and for a leading regional company with values such as family, sustainability and social responsibility. People with disabilities have been working inclusively at the plant for years. Recently, a best-practice example from the team at the company restaurant “Kesselstube” was honoured with the Inclusion Award of the province of Upper Austria in the category “Working together” with bronze.
Inclusion as a lived value
The award “Fliegender Fisch” (translated as ‘Flying Fish’) honours outstanding examples that enable people with disabilities to participate in society and the labour market.
In May, Viktoria Viertlbauer moved from an integrative employment model at Lebenshilfe Braunau to a permanent position. Since then, she has been responsible for many tasks in the preparation and follow-up work at the Hargassner Kesselstube. This is an important step towards personal, professional and financial independence, especially when you are faced with greater challenges than other people.

"Fliegender Fisch" significant in Weng
The name “Fliegender Fisch”, whose translation means “Flying Fish”, was chosen by people with disabilities themselves for the inclusion award and is intended to express the fact that people with challenges can simply be “given wings” so that they can “fly along” with others and participate in everyday life. For Hargassner, the flying fish even has a second meaning: it is prominently depicted in the municipal coat of arms of Weng im Innkreis, the company headquarters of the Innviertel heating engineers.
