The task
The requirements:
- Replacement of an oil central heating system
- Biomass heating system for a detached house
with wood logs and pellets - 250 m² heated area
Our solution
The Karner family replaced their old oil boiler with a Hargassner combi heating system and now heats with wood logs and pellets.
- Combi boiler Neo-HV Premium 20 & Nano-PK 20
Wood gasifier for 1/2 m logs - 2000 litre accumulator tank
- 6-fold point extraction system (RAPS)
The Karner family recently switched from an oil-fired heating system to a combi heating system. Their previous system consumed around 5,500 litres of heating oil per year. Today, their heat supply is provided by wood logs and pellets. The combi boiler also offers a cost-effective alternative to their previous heating system. Heating is mainly provided by wood logs, while the system automatically switches to pellets whenever nobody is at home.
The 2,000-litre accumulator tank ensures that heat remains available even when the boiler is not operating. This is particularly important as the family heats both their home and nearby buildings, covering a total heated area of 250 m².
When choosing a combi boiler, the Karner family considered several factors. One key advantage was the flexibility of the system. The boiler can operate with both wood logs and pellets, allowing the family to choose the fuel that best suits availability and price.
