Wood waste as fuel
Our part
in this
project
The task
The requirements:
- Heat supply for joinery with office, flats and apprentice house
- Sustainable heating
- Utilisation of residual waste
Our solution
The old wood log heating system was replaced with a new Eco-HK 170 wood chip boiler so that any residual waste could be recycled in a meaningful way.
- 1 x Eco-HK 170 kW incl. eCleaner
- 2,370 litre accumulator tank
- Spring core discharge (Ø 5 m)
- 72 m³ storage space for wood chips
As part of a heating system refurbishment, the existing wood log heating system was replaced with a new Eco-HK 170 wood chip boiler. The new system is equipped with an integrated fine dust filter (eCleaner), which minimises emissions and allows the joinery to be heated sustainably. In addition, four accumulator tanks, each with a capacity of 2,370 litres, ensure optimum energy efficiency and security of supply. The system has been reliably supplying a carpentry workshop with offices, two flats and an apprentice house with 25 rooms with heat and hot water since 2023. The wood chips are transported to the discharge screw by the spring core discharge, which in turn transports them to the boiler.
A special highlight of the system is the sustainable fuel utilisation: wood waste from the joinery is chopped directly on site or processed into briquettes and reused. The system was also designed in such a way that it can be expanded with a second boiler if required in order to flexibly cover future requirements. A great project from Heitzmann AG.
