Crop drying on a large scale
Our part
in this
project
The task
The requirements:
- Heat supply of the drying system
- Powerful & durable drying system
- More favourable alternative to oil
Our solution
The powerful Magno-SR 1000 industrial boiler is used in the Denk agricultural sector for drying crops:
- 1 x Magno-SR 1000 kW industrial heating system
- 1 x storage room for 600 m³ of wood chips
- 2 x spring leaf agitator
- 1 x de-ash system
Large boiler technology in agriculture:
Industrial heating for drying harvested crops
The Denk family from Taufkirchen relies on a drying system for harvested crops, which is operated with a powerful Hargassner Magno-SR 1000 industrial boiler system from Hargassner. The wood chip boiler achieves a thermal output of up to 1 megawatt.
Drying on a grand scale: Hargassner Magno-SR 1000 kW
A Hargassner Magno large-scale boiler system has been in operation at the Denk farm in Taufkirchen (Upper Austria) since September 2024. Up to 900 tonnes of maize can be dried every week during the harvest season, requiring around 200 m³ of wood chips. The potential saving in heating oil is 15,000 litres per week.
The flow temperature reaches up to 110 degrees, which enables a constant supply of sufficient thermal energy for the drying process. The heat is transferred to the drying system via a specially developed heat exchanger system; the storage room holds around 600 m³ of wood chips. Two large spring blade agitators turn the wood chips in the wood chip store. It is transported to the wood chip firing system via common connection augers.
This large boiler system is also completely self-cleaning. This guarantees consistently high performance 24/7.
