The task
The requirements:
- Supply of several public buildings and private residential units via a central biomass plant
- Operated by a regional energy community of farmers
- High reliability and sufficient power reserves
- Simple fuel logistics thanks to central wood chip bunker in the basement of the local kindergarten
Our solution
Local heating Stroheim:
- 2 x Eco-HK 130 wood chip boilers in cascade connection
- Total output 260 kW
- Centralised ash suction system with an AshCleaner including high conveying to an outdoor box
Biomass from the region - heat for an entire town centre
In Upper Austria, the municipality of Stroheim relies on a sustainable solution from the region for its heat supply. Behind this is an energy community of several farmers, who not only operate the system, but also supply it with wood chips themselves. This ensures that the entire value creation remains in the village.
The heating system is housed in the basement of the kindergarten and is therefore centrally located between all consumers. The external wood chip bunker enables quick and uncomplicated filling thanks to its large filling opening. Two Hargassner Eco-HK 130 in cascade connection provide the necessary power. This combination not only provides a total output of 260 kW, but also increases reliability and guarantees sufficient power reserves at peak times.
A special feature of the project is the convenient ash disposal: A Hargassner AshCleaner automatically sucks the ash into an external container, thus minimising maintenance work. The system is supplemented by separate augers and a central agitator in the bunker – a well thought-out system that shows how efficiently and sustainably regional heat supply can work.
